Connect a Reolink camera to COHIMA

You don’t need a Reolink account – just the camera’s device password. Once it’s set up, COHIMA connects the camera automatically when you open “Live”.

What you need

  • A Reolink camera with Wi-Fi or a network cableBattery cameras such as Argus or Go don’t deliver live video and won’t work.
  • An iPhone or iPad with COHIMAYou use it to connect the camera and record.
  • About 10 minutesYou only set up each camera once.

How it works

  1. 01Get the Reolink app

The Reolink app is free in the App Store. You don’t need a Reolink account.

Tap “+” and add the camera. Connect it to your Wi-Fi and set a device password.

Write the password down. COHIMA needs exactly this device password – not your Wi-Fi password and not your COHIMA password.

  2. 02Same Wi-Fi

Put your iPhone or iPad on the same Wi-Fi as the camera.

No club Wi-Fi at the pitch? Use a phone’s hotspot or a small travel router.

Guest Wi-Fi networks often block devices from talking to each other.

  3. 03Connect in COHIMA

Open “Live”, choose the match and tap “Camera” at the top. Then tap “Connect camera” and enter the device password.

If the camera’s video access (RTSP) is off, COHIMA turns it on by itself using this password.

  4. 04Only if COHIMA can’t turn on RTSP

Then turn RTSP on yourself, once. In the Reolink app, on the camera:

    1. Gear
    2. Network
    3. Advanced
    4. Server Settings
    5. Turn on RTSP

Depending on the app version, it’s called “Port Settings” instead of “Server Settings”. Then tap “Check again” in COHIMA.

If it doesn’t work

No camera found

Is your iPhone or iPad on the same Wi-Fi as the camera? Is it a guest Wi-Fi? Guest networks often block devices from talking to each other – use a phone hotspot or travel router instead. Does the camera have power and is it on the Wi-Fi? Then you’ll see it in the Reolink app. After switching it on, it needs about a minute.

Wrong or forgotten password

COHIMA needs the device password you set when you set up the camera in the Reolink app. If someone else set up the camera, ask them. Forgot the password? Press and hold the reset button on the camera until it restarts. Then set it up again in the Reolink app. After several failed attempts, many Reolink cameras block sign-in for a few minutes – wait 10 minutes.

I have a battery camera

Battery cameras such as Reolink Argus or Go don’t offer RTSP. Without RTSP, COHIMA gets no live video – you can’t use these cameras.
